Read more Free Throws for Fibrosis is a community event created to raise money to support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. It is held in memory of Gary Talbot, who was an avid basketball player and passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis in April 2013.
Read More No one knows what causes Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) or why some people get it. It causes the lungs to become scarred and stiffened. This scarring makes it increasingly difficult to breathe. "Idiopathic" means no cause can be found. A cure does not exist for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Unfortunately, no medication has been shown to improve the outcome of patients with this condition. By supporting and participating in Free Throws for Fibrosis, funds will be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation to help research and develop cure.
